Key responsibilities
Cashier duties:
Process customer payments, including cash, cards, and other forms of payment.
Handle and balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.
Provide customer service, answer questions, and address issues at the point of sale.
Data entry duties:
Enter new and updated information into databases, spreadsheets, and other software programs.
Transfer data from physical documents to digital formats.
Verify data for accuracy and completeness, correcting any errors found.
Organize and maintain both digital and physical files and records.
Retrieve data or generate reports as requested.
Maintain data confidentiality and security.
Combined duties:
Process invoices, which can involve both data entry and payment processing.
Handle financial and customer information with accuracy.
Perform administrative support tasks as needed.
Required skills and qualifications
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency with computers, including data entry programs, databases, and software like Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Good typing speed and accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational skills.
High school diploma or equivalent is often required; computer training is a plus.
